Moving On

A battle of wills.

Nights like this, I turned Killer, Slayer
of thoughts of you, memories of you,
feelings of you (oh, the feeling of you!)
And yet, did that I still had you
in my mind, and still felt you
in my heart, burrowing,
and in my person,
mean you yet lived in me?
Mean moving on
remained but an idea,
an impression I needed
to understand?
Well, I did not try
to understand,
not for a long time.
But, when I stopped fighting
and wondered why
bits of you yet existed in me,
I found I guilty of letting it,
let you,
and for a good reason
(I supposed).

See, moving on is a necessity.
Until I found it so,
you and I were stuck together.
