Soberer III: Milestones

“The first thoughts surged in,
Washing him off the banks of his mind.
He remembered.
And suddenly,
It was all he could think of.”

That’s how life will feel like, more often
The voice within started
Doesn’t sobriety stink?
I swallowed. As if, in silent agreement
All your worst fears
A sweat trickled down
Your failures
I have to. Huh! I even braved on
Shut up.

I scrambled for my notebook and pen
“Milestones” I titled it
“Day 1- success.” I recorded
